“The Role of the Church in the Civil Rights Movement”

Event Description:
CM CARES, the Church Mutual Insurance Company Foundation, will host “The Role of the Church in the Civil Rights Movement: Past, Present and Future” on Friday, April 12. The exact location is to be determined.

The church has played a key role in the civil rights movement both historically and in present day events. Join fellow Marquette alumni, parents, students and friends as well as community members exploring the past, present and future of this relationship from a variety of engaging presenters.

Event schedule is:

12:45 p.m.: Registration

1 p.m.: Program and Dialogue

Keynote Speaker Reverend Alvin Love: The National Outlook

A Brief History of the Civil Rights Movement in Milwaukee

Panel Discussion and Q&A: The Church and Civil Rights: Going Local

Closing Reflection: The Future of Social and Racial Justice in the Church

4 p.m.: Reception
