Event Description:
Dr. Kate Ward (Ph.D., Boston College, 2016) will give her presentation for the Haggerty/Center for Teaching and Leaning grant she received. The public is welcome to attend.

Dr. Ward is a scholar of Christian ethics working on questions of economic ethics, virtue ethics, and ethical method. She has published articles on wealth, virtue, and economic inequality in Theological Studies, Journal of Religious Ethics, Heythrop Journal, and New Theology Review, and is currently coediting an issue of the journal Religions, focused on economic inequality, with Kenneth R. Himes. Current research projects investigate wealth, poverty, and virtue; ethics of cooperation; and virtues for responding to inequality. She will present “Toward a Christian Virtue Account of Moral Luck” at the Society of Christian Ethics Annual Meeting in 2017.

Dr. Ward graduated from Harvard College, where she studied psychology, in 2005, and earned her M.Div with concentration in Bible from Catholic Theological Union in 2011. Before beginning her Ph.D. studies, she worked at AFSCME Council 31, a labor union organizing workers in Catholic health care settings.
