Anaerobic Treatment of High-Strength Industrial Waste

Event Description:
The 14th annual Marquette Water Quality Center short course on anaerobic treatment of high-strength industrial waste will be held September12-13, 2017 at the Marquette University Raynor Library (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA). The course is designed for industry managers, operators, consulting engineers, regulators and students. Information will be presented regarding anaerobic microbiology and chemistry, anaerobic digestion operation and design, sustainability, biogas utilization, construction/start-up guidelines. Case studies of operating anaerobic treatment systems will be presented for Redhook Brewery, Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, Forrest County Potawatomi Community Renewable Energy Facility, Mars Chocolate North America, and other industries. Speakers will include Goksel Demirer (Middle Eastern Technical University-Turkey), Daniel Zitomer (Marquette University) and Dennis Totzke (Applied Technologies, Inc.).
